Main Library, […] The Great Mystery: A Lecture Series on Death will be held on April 4, 2024, featuring Dr. Malaiyandi and coma survivor Theresa Hayes to discuss the clinical practice of brain death and disorders of consciousness like coma. Stand-up comedians from Ohio and Michigan will perform at the Grand Slam: A Comedy Show. The First Thursday Series is part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI), a coalition of local peace and justice advocates led by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur. The Fair Housing Center will discuss the community impact of redlining in Toledo. The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again) is a nonstop romp through all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays. 5 Poets 5 Parks will be featured in the series celebrating National Poetry Month. The ballet company will present an all-new production of The Sleeping Beauty, with tickets available for $15-$72. The festival will also feature a comedy night at TolHouse featuring Mark Gregory and DJ Jay Roc.
