TOLEDO, OH — Mere hours after allegedly killing his estranged wife in her Bridgeport Township home, a man has been captured in another state.

Police confirmed that by noon on Thursday, March 28, the 42-year-old man was arrested in Bowling Green, Ohio. They did not provide specifics on how the suspect was arrested.

The Michigan State Police Fugitive Team is working with Bowling Green authorities on bringing the arrestee back to Saginaw County.

Not long before the man’s arrest, police issued an advisory describing him as armed and dangerous. Investigators allege the man shot and killed Chasity T. Jackson, 38, in her home at 3509 Studor Road earlier on Thursday.

Police responded to the house for a shots-fired call around 7:48 a.m., finding Jackson deceased.

A 17-year-old male who sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen was taken to a local hospital for surgery.

Other minors in the house were not physically harmed.

The suspect reportedly fled in a gray Chevrolet Impala. He was arrested about 150 miles south of the homicide scene.

Court records show Jackson filed for divorce against the suspect in January of this year. A custody hearing regarding their children was set for May.

The same day of the divorce filing, the suspect was arraigned on a felony count of third-offense domestic violence, Jackson is being the listed victim. The suspect was wanted on a bench warrant for violating bond conditions.
