CHEMICAL LEAK UPDATE: EPA reports extremely low glycidyl methacrylate detection in north Toledo The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reported an extremely low detection of glycidyl methacrylate in an industrial area of north Toledo. The agency's Trace Atmospheric Gas Analyzer (TAGA) mobile laboratory detected the chemical at levels below reporting and screening thresholds. The mobile lab continued to monitor the air around the detection area for an hour before no additional detections were recorded. The EPA has also launched a public data viewer to allow residents to access air-monitoring data summary tables. The investigation and ongoing monitoring are intended to assess potential impacts from the chemical release and provide updated information to the public as results become available.
