Whitmer tops Perrysburg, claims NLL Buckeye title
By Sean Maiolo The Panthers of Toledo Whitmer won the Northern Lakes League Buckeye Division crown, defeating Perrysburg by 28-14. The Yellow Jackets (9-1, 4-1) were outgained 377 yards to 227 in total offense and were held to a season-low 78 yards rushing and under 2.5 yards per carry. Despite senior night festivities and nine wins, Perrysburg was unable to maintain their dominance on the line of scrimmage. Coach Dirk Conner admitted his team made too many mistakes to win a game of this caliber. The Panthers' defense was aggressive throughout the game, winning some one-on-one battles.
