Toledo Public Schools is seeking a new property tax levy, Issue 9, which would generate $22 million annually. The money would replace lost funds due to rising operational costs, state cuts, and inflation. The district's superintendent, Romules Durant, aims to have 100% of students graduate and have industry credentials and college credits. The levy would support the district's transformation plan 2.0, prioritizing classroom experience and protecting student programs. If the levy fails, Durant says the district would have to make more tough cuts.
