TOLEDO, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter is committed to raising awareness and providing valuable information about Alzheimer’s disease. As part of this effort, they have scheduled a free community program focused on the 10 warning signs of Alzheimer’s. This educational event aims to empower individuals, caregivers, and the community at large with knowledge about early detection and intervention.

Alzheimer’s disease affects millions of people worldwide, and early recognition of its warning signs is crucial. During this program, attendees will learn:

• Differentiating Normal Aging from Dementia Symptoms: Understand how memory changes associated with aging differ from those indicative of dementia.

• Approaching Memory Concerns: Learn effective ways to address memory issues with loved ones.

• Importance of Early Detection and Diagnosis: Discover why identifying Alzheimer’s early can significantly impact treatment outcomes.

According to Pam Myers, senior program director of the Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio and Central Ohio Chapters:

“Research has shown that cognitive changes in the brain can start 20 years or more before dementia symptoms occur. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory difficulties or other changes in thinking skills, don’t ignore them. Seek medical evaluation promptly. Early diagnosis not only maximizes treatment benefits but also allows individuals to participate in clinical trials and plan for the future.”
