A Brief Pause at Jeep’s Toledo Plant Won’t Reach Showrooms
Stellantis paused Jeep Wrangler production at Toledo Assembly for two shifts. With 156 days of dealer inventory, buyers will see no change. Two plant stoppages in one month have occurred at Jeep's Toledo Plant, one of which was a deliberate commercial decision taken during a labor dispute where workers have voted to authorize a strike. The incident occurred after a hazardous material release at MC Tank Transport, a bulk liquid chemical storage facility, occurred outside of Stellantis' control. The north plant of the Toledo Assembly Complex, which produces the Jeep Wrangler, sent workers home that night and canceled both Wednesday shifts. The south plant, which builds the Gladiator, was also not running that week. Stellants suspended production at Windsor Assembly from October 19 for several weeks, citing adjustments needed due to market conditions. The stoppage of a few days against a six-month supply is not significant, as dealers currently hold 156 days of Wrangler inventory against a figure of 85 days.
