80-year-old killed by wrong way driver on I-280

According to Toledo Police, 24-year-old Jacob Twietmeyer entered the I-280N exit ramp, heading southbound in the northbound lanes, eventually striking the vehicle of Ellis Monhollen just south of exit 11. A wrong way driver has killed an 80-year-old man on I-280 in Toledo, Ohio. Jacob Twietmeyer, 24, entered the wrong way on a freeway exit ramp and then struck the vehicle of Ellis Monhollen, 80, causing serious injuries. Twietmeier was partially ejected from his vehicle and Monhhen was extricated from his car. Monhwon died later at the hospital. The incident is under investigation.

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - A wrong way crash results in the death of an 80-year-old man on I-280 Wednesday night.

According to Toledo Police, 24-year-old Jacob Twietmeyer entered the I-280N exit ramp, heading southbound in the northbound lanes, eventually striking the vehicle of Ellis Monhollen just south of exit 11.

Twietmeyer was partially ejected from his vehicle, and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Monhollen had to be extricated from his vehicle, and was pronounced death later at the hospital.

The incident is under investigation.
